Web Designer

All web designers pay attention!

Supreme Rockstar Ninja Web Designer's please read on to find out about this exciting opportunity.. but you MUST be enthusiastic (like Chloe from 24), able to learn fast (like Peter Petrelli from "Heroes"), smart (like E from "Entourage"), driven (like Eddie Morra from "Limitless")... and part of the team (like the rest of our fantastic team!)

For those who don't know, Higher Click is a leading Search Engine Optimization (SEO) agency based in Budapest, Hungary. We are currently looking for an experienced creative Web Designer to work on a variety of internal and external projects. We work with clients such as Atari, 99designs, Flippa and Sitepoint, as well as a variety of international SMEs. Working in English, our international team services clients from around the world. Oh and did we mention we are an AWESOME company to work for!

Some of the cool things about our company:

  • * We have a kickass office in Lizst Ferenc Ter, complete with Pirate flag and beanbags
  • * We have a broad range of international talent from all over the world
  • * We are leaders in our field, having spoken at the worlds top Universities (Harvard, Oxford etc)
  • * While we do work very hard, we also know how to kick back and have fun (company sponsored parties are amazing)
  • * We reward creativity, enthusiasm and understand that the best ideas come from every part of the company

Why we are different (AKA our rocket ship to the stars…)

At Higher Click, we don't believe in being average. Every aspect of our lives, both work and personal, is geared towards excellence. The best company, the best work environment, the best people, the best projects, the best of the best. We have grown our company from a tiny living room agency into a fully fledged international powerhouse, competing on terms with the world's top agencies.

We execute fast and hard, with limited "red-tape". Our people regularly experiment with different ideas and solutions. Got an idea for a cool side-project? Lets try it out, immediately. Didn't work out? Oh well, lets learn from it and improve for next time. That is our attitude.

We are a founding member of TecTub - a collection of international startup companies based in Budapest. You will be sharing offices with the country's finest entrepreneurs. If this isn't the best place you have ever worked, something is very wrong!

What you will be doing

The role has two aspects: internal and external projects.

Internally, you will be working on extending our website as we offer new products and services, working on our blog and creating viral info graphics. We may suddenly need to build a new landing page for a specific campaign, you'll drop everything and bang it out before beer o'clock. We are in the early stages of developing some software products, so you will also be involved in UI/UX design and consultation.

Externally, you will be working on client projects to redesign aspects of their site. This is not full web design in the traditional sense, more design optimization. Think - improving the user experience of a site. Pop quiz - Which color of should you make a buy now button. Red, orange or green? Some clients come to us with poorly designed sites which need serious changes so you should be comfortable with designing a site from scratch.

About you

Above all else, you are an absolute design superstar.

Essential things to have are:

  • Fantastic English (bonus points if you have lived/studied abroad)
  • Top notch CSS skills (tables make baby Jesus cry)
  • User Experience design skills
  • Amazing Photoshop and Illustrator skills
  • One Portfolio to rule them all (AKA an epic portfolio)

Good things to have are:

  • * Javascript/Flash experience
  • * Video production experience (animated)
  • * UI experience (beyond just knowing what UI stands for)
  • * HTML5 skills (or swear an oath to learn it fast)
  • * CSS3 skills (yes, times are changing)
  • * Can draw cool shit on the whiteboard

To apply

Send us the following:

  • * Your resume
  • * A 150 word explanation as to why we should hire you (be creative)
  • * Your portfolio
  • * A photoshopped image of you with some of the team in (blurry) Budapest:
