Challenges - Why did Flippa come to Higher Click?

In the spring of 2011, Flippa approached us to determine if we were able to provide SEO services and live up to the expectations they were looking for in terms of results and co-operation. The online marketplace was already well known and established but the organic rankings were not a reflection of omnipresence. The challenges Flippa was facing in the organic search results made them look for a competent company to get them higher in Google search results.

Flippa had four simple desires:

  1. Higher rankings
  2. More organic traffic
  3. More visibility
  4. Increase in revenue

Before approaching us, Flippa was in the top five search results in Google for most of their keywords. However, they could not achieve the top rankings for their keywords. That is when they came to us. It is no secret here that by the time Flippa joined us they already had a big web presence with engaged users and a great community. They only needed that little extra push that Higher Click provided them.

What We Did

In this particular industry Flippa was competing with other companies who were also doing search engine optimization and with a bigger budget.

The first step in competing in a competitive industry is to analyze the competition in-depth and to find the strengths and weaknesses that could be used to your advantage. Another initial process was to determine what the strengths and weaknesses were of Flippa. Once all those factors were known, the HigherClick team set up the campaign to push up the rankings using that knowledge and past experience of similar competitive industries.

Since there are no long-term contracts, expectations and results had to be met on a monthly basis.

Result

The initial campaign started with 24 keywords and after three months over a dozen keywords reached the top ranking in Google. The non-branded organic traffic increased by 18% and in the same period the revenue grew by 13%.

After six months the trend continued. The non-branded organic search traffic increased by 35% and the revenue increased by 27%. Out of the all the keywords nearly all have achieved top ranking which have resulted in a positive return on investment for Flippa.
